For almost 40 years, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has been the go-to resource center for information involving missing children. Their toll-free hotline (1-800-THE-LOST) has taken more than 5 million calls and has assisted in the recovery of more than 350,000 children. Their reach is expansive. In addition to finding missing and abducted children, NCMEC also aims to defeat child sex trafficking and online child exploitation, which is having a widespread impact. They also provide preventative safety programs like NetSmartz and KidSmartz for families and professionals by providing education on how to handle a variety of situations, real-world safety, and how to protect a child as they start to use technology.
At the beginning of this month Spurrier Group donated $25,000 to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. For the month of August, they will be highlighting two vital non-profit organizations that aim to keep children safe. Donations directly support the programs that provide resources to children, families, law enforcement, and social service agencies.
