The Daily Record announced the winners of Maryland’s Most Admired CEOs and four communicators made the list this year. Among the 2019 honorees are Larry D. Unger, Maryland Public Television; Greg Abel, Abel Communications; Sandy Hillman, Sandy Hillman Communications; and Todd Marks, Mindgrub.
The Daily Record also released its Reader Rankings awards: Best Advertising Agency: Devaney & Associates; PROFILES; TBC. Best Media Buying: Media Works, Ltd.; Devaney & Associates; Clapp Communications. Best PR Agency: PROFILES; Clapp Communications; Maroon PR. Best Web Design Firm: Disruptive, Inc; Mindgrub Technologies; AMF Creative.
For The Daily Record’s 2019 Leading Women program, Jessica Watson, CEO & Creative Director, Points North Studio, will be among those recognized during a dinner event on Dec. 2. The Leading Women awards honors 50 women who are 40 or younger for the accomplishments made so far in their careers.
One of the winners, Greg Abel, founded Abel Communications in 2005 as a solo practice. Today, Abel leads 15+ professionals working with top brands like Lyft, BrightFarms, UnitedHealthcare of the Mid-Atlantic, STX, and Loyola University Maryland.
“As Abel Communications has grown, it has been a priority of mine to maintain a positive and supportive culture,” said Abel. “What I’ve come to realize over time is that doing great work requires balance. I respect and practice the philosophy that doing great work in our industry requires well-rounded individuals who live full lives.”

A panel of previous Top 100 Women and Leading Women winners selected honorees based on their professional experience, community involvement and commitment to inspiring change.
Independent digital marketing agency R2i hired Mark Eddy as VP of Channel Partnerships and Strategic Alliances. According to a release, Eddy brings more than 15 years of experience “driving business outcomes for clients through partnerships with industry leading technology vendors.” Earlier in 2019, Eddy was a partner sales manager for Adobe and previously was director of alliances with Marketo and customer experience sales manager with Oracle.
Warschawski announced the promotion of Ben LoBue to Senior Director of Digital.
