D.C. Agency Updates: Booz Allen Hamilton, APCO and Hill Impact

Booz Allen Hamilton named Craig G. Veith as vice president for external affairs.  In this newly created position, he will oversee the firm’s government relations, media relations and corporate social responsibility functions.  He comes to BAH from Sound Resources, which he founded in 2005.  He also has been  president & CEO of Direct Impact and chairman of the U.S. media practice at Burson-Marsteller.

Dan Scandling, senior VP of public affairs at Ogilvy PR, joined APCO Worldwide in a senior PA role, reports O’Dwyer’s.  Scandling, continued the report, was a longtime aide to Virginia Republican Reps. Frank Wolf and Herb Bateman, including chief of staff and press secretary to each during tenures of 14 years and 10 years, respectively.

Dan Hill, former president of Ervin Hill Strategy, launched Hill Impact.  According to a release, the new firm will offer an innovative and reimagined approach to integrated communications and government affairs. Previously, continued the release, he ran the Washington operations for a leading European aerospace and defense company and served as a senior advisor to libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson when he was governor of New Mexico.
