Abt Associates, Rockville, MD, adds Michael Dumlao, above, as Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications, a new role overseeing the company’s brand evolution and future marketing vision and strategy.  Dumlao joins Abt from Booz Allen Hamilton, where he led the Fortune 500 company’s rebrand as their first Director of Brand, served as a Senior Brand and Diversity Advisor for leaders in the federal government, and was the longest-serving leader of GLOBE+, their LGBTQ+ business resource group. He oversaw brand strategy, market research, and creative activation.  He has over 22 years of experience advancing diversity, equity and social justice through award-winning brand management, digital marketing, and multi-platform storytelling in corporate, federal, academic and non-profit environments. A sought-after speaker, he is also the author of the Amazon best-selling book “The Wisdom of Guncles” published by New Degree Press.

D.C.-based Spectrum Science has received a strategic investment from Knox Lane, an investment firm focused on partnering with businesses in the services and consumer sectors.  According to a release, the partnership “will support the continued expansion of Spectrum’s strategic communications capabilities, while also enabling the Company to build on its unique approach to clinical trial recruitment, broaden consultative capabilities for medical affairs clients and drive enhanced tech enablement throughout the organization.”  Spectrum employs more than 300 individuals across the U.S. and UK.

Digital consultancy Forum One, Arlington, announced that after 26 years with the company, Chris Wolz will retire from his position of Chief Executive Officer and President later this year. The search for his successor is already underway. “Chris has had an incredible impact on the growth and success of Forum One throughout the years,” said Jim Cashel, Forum One co-founder and Board Chair. “He has led with integrity, enthusiasm, and good judgment—we’ve been fortunate for his service.” Along with co-founders Cashel and Dave Witzel, Wolz, states a release, has brought Forum One’s vision to life through long-term relationships with major mission-driven organizations and government agencies such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, March of Dimes, Urban Institute, and the Environmental Protection Agency.
