Beyond Definition was honored in the AIGA 50 with an award for its logo and design work with the Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building. The building has not been used since 2004, but with a plan to reopen the space, the Smithsonian needed a flexible identity with a dual-purpose logo that served the needs of both fundraising and promoting The Future Project’s mission to showcase the world’s most innovative technologies and views on where our species is headed. The identity also needed to fit into the Smithsonian brand family.
Focused Image Inc., based in Falls Church, VA, announced the completion of three brand launches for clients in the government services and technology market. Specifically, the agency reports work for Axiologic Solutions, a systems engineering an IT company serving the defense industry; InterImage, a company providing IT modernization solutions for federal civilian markets; and VTG, a C4ISR modernization and sustainment solutions provider.
D.C.-based Blue Water + MissionSide adds Mike Flynn as vice president of technology. According to a release, Flynn has experience in customer experience optimization, customer data management, personalization, technology implementation and marketing analytics. A Towson State University alumnus, with a bachelor’s degree in finance, he resides in Richmond, VA.
