BGR PR Principal Frank Ahrens, former vice president of global corporate communications for Hyundai Motor in Seoul and Washington Post reporter, pictured above, is heading BGR Analytics, a new practice launched by the D.C.-based PR agency. Using data from 25 categories and analyzing 3.8 trillion pieces of online data over the course of an entire year, BGR Analytics has created the BGR Impact Index, a ranking of all 195 United Nations countries based on how well-known and well-liked they are in D.C. and the U.S. “The BGR Impact Index shows foreign countries how much mindshare they command in Washington, especially compared to peer and rival countries,” Ahrens said. “It tells them where they punch above – and below – their weights. This knowledge can drive their communications plans to amplify their strengths and address their challenges more strategically, instead of relying on hunches, anecdotes or outdated assumptions about their status in Washington.”
