D.C.-Area Agency Updates: J. Wilson Advisors, Fixation Marketing and Whereoware

Public relations and reputation management agency J. Wilson Advisors announced that Hardy Spire has joined the firm as Managing Director. Spire will advise clients on navigating traditional and new media, messaging, crisis management, and integrated communications campaigns. For more than two decades, Spire worked in television news, most recently as Senior Producer at CNN where he supervised production of “Inside Politics” and “Reliable Sources.” At CBS News, he led D.C. coverage for “The Early Show,” served as the White House producer and reported, edited, produced, and wrote news coverage in the U.S. and more than 40 countries. Since 2015, Hardy has advised individuals and organizations on PR and public affairs strategy at the global firm Golin.

Fixation Marketing, a tradeshow marketing agency based in Arlington, VA,  announced a new hire, two promotions and the expansion of its content development services. Sydney Bowker will support multi-channel campaigns as Fixation’s newest Senior Account Executive. She previously managed client accounts and marketing projects for Massachusetts-based Black Diamond Networks and DFW Consultants.  Rachel Gellman and Julia Ruxer were both promoted to Account Manager.  And, Fixation announced it expanded its content operation under Amanda Charney, Director of Global Communications. She will build out Fixation’s content development services to bring more talent, more efficiencies and enhanced results to client campaigns.

Chantilly-based digital agency Whereoware added Paul Pickersgill as vice president of sales. Pickersgill most recently was regional sales manager at Thomson Reuters FindLaw.
