D.C.-Area Agency Updates: Pinkston, Stratacomm and Stagwell Media

Pinkston acquires messaging and communications firm Pliris Strategies in Oklahoma City. Pliris founder and CEO Donelle Harder will join Pinkston as a senior vice president. Pliris and its staff will remain based in Oklahoma City, reports O’Dwyer’s.

Stratacomm adds David Ocamb as vice president of research, planning and strategy. In this newly-created role, Ocamb will conduct market research to help inform advertising and integrated communications campaigns, analyze the findings to create actionable insights and, ultimately, create opportunities for Stratacomm’s clients to deepen relationships with target audiences.  Ocamb previously held roles at two Texas-based integrated marketing and advertising agencies.

Stagwell Media adds three executives to its global C-Suite. According to MediaPost, Jon Schaaf has been named Global Chief Investment Officer. He held similar roles at Stagwell subsidiaries Gale and Assembly and earlier was president, Enterprise Partnerships at Omnicom Media Group. The media operation named Shannon Pruitt Global Chief Content Officer. The 20-year industry veteran was previously president of content at MDC Media Partners and earlier held roles at Dentsu, Horizon Media, Disney and Warner Bros. Rick Acampora has been named Global Chief Client Officer. He held the same role at ForwardPMX, now part of Stagwell Media and earlier held senior roles at GroupM, Wavemaker, UM and Publicis Groupe.
