Subject Matter announced that Nicole Cornish, President & COO, has been named the firm’s CEO. Cornish, above, was recruited to Subject Matter in 2017 to establish professional financial and administrative structure for the then-recently combined firm. She has since provided steady leadership integral to delivering record growth and a differentiated business strategy. Cornish, an agency veteran, joined Subject Matter from Burson-Marsteller and Direct Impact, where she held a number of leadership positions, including U.S. Chief Operating Officer. In addition, John Buckley, who joined the firm in 2016 as CEO to steer the integration of Home Front and Elmendorf Ryan Strategies into Subject Matter, has stepped down, but remains a Senior Advisor, providing guidance through this transition, assisting with clients and pursuing business development opportunities.
Glen Echo Group added European Union technology policy expert Jesse Spector as a senior director. Spector joins from the Software & Information Industry Association (SIAA) where she directed technology policy, advocating the emerging technology interests of a diverse membership of hundreds of digital companies. Long at the forefront of EU-U.S. relations, she previously worked as a policy officer for the digital economy at the Delegation of the EU to the United States, working on digital trade, privacy, internet governance, cybersecurity and emerging technologies. Glen Echo Group also promoted four staff members: TJ Chase is now a director on the creative team, Emma Christman is director of external affairs and engagement, Charlie Vinopal is a senior associate and Carrie Hutcheson is an associate.
