U.Group merges the two business operations and now offers comprehensive customer-centric technical solutions for the public and private sectors. Immersion Active, a digital marketing agency based in Frederick, Md, that specializes in connecting mature consumers with brands that bring value to their lives, acquired Atlanta-based marketing agency Gilbert & Sheppard Group. A release states that with a strong footprint in the residential housing industry, Gilbert & Sheppard Group’s work includes partnerships with builders and developers of active adult, master-planned and senior living communities. Immersion Active’s digital marketing solutions combined with Gilbert & Sheppard’s specialties in strategic planning and creative solutions will now offer clients complete end-to-end marketing services.
The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) hired Kathy King as senior director public affairs, advocacy and media. In her new role with the AICPA, King will work with the advocacy team in the D.C., office promoting and defending the public and management accounting profession’s global public policy agenda. King joins the AICPA from Folio Financial, Inc., in McLean V.A., where she led the fintech firm’s media relations activities. Before that, she served as senior vice president and partner for FleishmanHillard, where she co-led its U.S. Financial Services Practice Group and led its D.C. Corporate Reputation team.
