D.C.-Area Updates: Banner Public Affairs, Comunicad and Savi

by | Feb 6, 2017

Banner Public Affairs added two to its D.C. office – Alex Maggos, who will serve as Vice President of Government Relations, and Maggie McClain, who will serve as Vice President for Communications. Maggos joined Banner Public Affairs with seven years of experience between Capitol Hill and political campaigns. Most recently, Maggos served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Senator Mark Kirk (R, Ill) and as Director of Operations on his 2016 campaign. Previously, Maggos served as a Campaign Manager to Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (R, Mo). Before joining Banner, McClain was a Director with the Grocery Manufacturers Association and, before that, McClain served in client counseling roles at global public relations agency Hill + Knowlton Strategies and national public opinion research firm Public Opinion Strategies.

Comunicad, LLC, a public relations and marketing communications agency, named Monica Cortes to oversee business development. Cortés will be the Senior Vice President of Strategy Development. Previously, Cortés was a Senior Strategic Advisor for AARP.

Savi, an Alexandria, Va-based company that provides sensor technology and big data/machine learning analytic solutions for the supply chain industry, appointed Vicki Warker as Chief Marketing Officer. She joined Savi from O3b Networks, where she was VP of Marketing and, said a release, played a key role in helping the company become the fastest-growing satellite operator in history prior to the company’s sale to SES.
