Robert Zirkelbach, executive VP-PA at D.C.-based Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, above, joins ExxonMobil as head of global issues and advocacy, reports O’Dwyer’s.   The six-year PhRMA veteran developed and guided communications strategy overseeing its media relations, digital/social media, advertising, message development, internal communications and executive visibility.  Previously, he was VP-strategic communications at America’s Health Insurance Plans and was responsible for the association’s media relations, public policy communications, and grassroots and issue advocacy, adds the O’Dwyer’s report.

GMMB announced that Senior Vice President and Managing Director Micheline Kennedy has been named Partner. Kennedy has more than 25 years of experience in strategic communications and advocacy for issues in the U.S. and around the globe that have elevated awareness and influenced policies on behalf of women, children and people of color. She is a leader in the global reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health (RMNCAH) field and is responsible for a diverse portfolio of clients at GMMB, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, Ibis Reproductive Health and Power to Decide. Kennedy joined GMMB in 2008 as a Vice President. 

Subject Matter announced that Bryce Harlow will join the firm’s government relations team beginning July 13. Harlow comes to creative advocacy firm Subject Matter from CBS Corporation where for thirteen years he led federal legislative and political initiatives for the Fortune 500 media company on issues of video policy, copyright, tax, privacy and Internet-related regulations. Previously, he was director of government relations at the National Association of Broadcasters where he served as the chief liaison between the radio/TV broadcaster’s advocacy organization and Congress and the Administration.
