D.C.-area updates: Inova rebranding; hires at Appian and Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue

Inova, a nonprofit health system in D.C. and Northern Virginia, launched a comprehensive rebranding initiative with, states as release, a new logo, look and tone that will redefine its identity and continue to propel it to be among the leading health systems in the nation. According to the release, “Inova’s new rebrand and logo signals to the community what they can expect from Inova: the health system is always by your side, providing clinical excellence and compassionate care – and how human connections are at the heart of everything it does. The new branding will be implemented at Inova locations on a rolling basis, with a new brand advertising campaign planned in phases over the coming months. The campaign is focused on bringing Inova’s brand story to life in an authentic and modern way.”

Appian, McLean, Va, announced the appointment of Randy Guard to the position of Chief Marketing Officer. According to a release, Guard brings more than 35 years of experience in marketing, product strategy, and technology leadership to Appian’s executive team. He will oversee global marketing efforts for the McLean, VA-based company.,  “Guard’s impressive track record includes 20 years at data and analytics leader SAS, building and leading product and marketing teams, and ultimately serving as Chief Marketing Officer for five years. While there, he spearheaded marketing of the SAS platform, solutions, and SAS AI offerings including the machine learning and deep learning embedded across the SAS portfolio. Most recently, he served as CMO and Chief Product Officer at digital payments start-up Spreedly,” states the release.

The Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue announced that Colette LaForce has joined the organization as its first Chief Marketing Officer. In her new role, LaForce, who will be based in D.C., will lead communications, marketing and partnership initiatives to unite global technology corporations, government leaders, policymakers and academic institutions in support of the Institute’s mission of ensuring technology advances freedom.  During her 20-year career as a technology industry executive, LaForce has served as global Chief Marketing Officer at leading technology and professional services organizations including semiconductor giant AMD, spacetech pioneer Antaris, Dell Services, advisory firm ICF and global standards nonprofit NSF International.  According to a release, The Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue is the world’s preeminent trusted technology accelerator.
