D.C.-Area Updates: Ogilvy, Drumfire Public Affairs and Audi of America

by | Feb 22, 2016

Ogilvy PR global CEO Stuart Smith is to play a more active role running the firm’s North American operations, two years after Rob Mathias was promoted to head the region for the WPP PR firm. Mathias will now focus his “full attention” on revitalizing Ogilvy PR’s D.C. operation, the firm’s largest office in North America, which he has led since 2002, reports The Holmes Report.

Aaron Saunders, EVP and COO of Dezenhall Resources, opened Drumfire Public Affairs in D.C., reports O’Dwyer’s.  The O’Dwyer’s report also stated that “Saunders was communications director to Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) and the late Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Ak.). He said Drumfire aims to integrate communications, lobbying and coalition billing, among other PA discipliness. Services include ally mobilization, issue management, spokesperson training and media relations.”

Audi of America, Herndon, Va,  awarded its U.S. PR business to PMK-BNC . According to a release, “PMK-BNC was selected from several firms for its award-winning strategy and brand-building work across product, corporate and lifestyle. … The partnership began in 2006 when Audi retained PMK-BNC to launch the first-ever Audi Forum in New York City. Shortly thereafter, Audi appointed the agency as communications AOR to solidify its push into the competitive luxury market with the launch of the first generation Audi R8 supercar, and to introduce the brand to the influential Hollywood community. Since, the partnership has expanded to include automotive and corporate communications, technology and innovation, content creation and influencer programming.” The account will be staffed bi-coastally in PMK-BNC’s NYC and LA offices.
