D.C.-based agency This January launches Agencyland board game

This January, a D.C.-based agency, has launched Agencyland. The game, inspired by Monopoly, is, states Agency Spy, “designed to help everyone understand the ins and outs of the ad industry. Unlike Monopoly, instead of buying properties, players are winning, hiring, and staffing accounts.

“Every time you pass Go, you get paid for your monthly retainers. Sadly, you also have to make payroll, and it isn’t cheap. In this fast-paced game of capitalism, accounts are frequently lost, pitches occasionally won, and if a player can’t make payroll, they’ll get stuck on Layoff Lane.

“Squares players might land on include “You won a Lion! Charge double for this lap around the board” or “Cold email! Skip one turn to do intro calls. Roll a 3 to win the account.””
