D.C. Updates: High Growth Communications, kglobal and the National Pork Producers Council

by | Apr 30, 2019

Veteran public relations entrepreneur Doug Poretz launched High Growth Communications, described as an agency with a full suite of communications services exclusively to create new brand leaders in the fast-growing cannabis industry. The release stated that High Growth Communications will provide services for all segments of the cannabis industry, including cultivators, retailers, cannabidiol (CBD) producers and all the affiliated industry participants such as lighting, packaging, and professional services firms, as well as trade associations.  Poretz was co-founder of Qorvis Communications, which was one of the nation’s largest and fastest growing independently owned PR firms when he was engaged with the firm.

kglobal added Jenny Wang as account director to assist its crisis communications practice and help manage its energy-related clients.  Wang joined kglobal from Raffetto Herman Strategic Communications, where she planned and executed integrated public relations and public affairs campaigns that included online and traditional media, executive positioning, reputation management and thought leadership. Wang previously worked for Ketchum in its social marketing practice.

The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) added Rachel Gantz as director of communications. She previously was the communications director for the Renewable Fuels Association, representing U.S. ethanol producers. Leading up to her time in public relations, she was a reporter for 17 years, covering biofuel, energy and environmental issues. She worked for Oil Price Information Service (OPIS), Hart Energy Publications and Energy Argus.
