Surging Demand Leads to Doubling of Production Capability
D S Simon Media, a Satellite Media Tour and Virtual Event Production company serving the PR industry, opened a new Broadcast Center in New York City, shown above. The move, states the company, doubles its capacity to produce SMTs and features a state-of-the-art control system designed for the production of virtual and hybrid events—the fastest-growing service offering of the company. The company reports revenue through May 2021 grew 72% over 2020 and 78% over 2019 during a similar time period. The firm’s revenue increased 15% in both the previous years.
“We are seeing a dramatic increase in demand from TV stations to conduct broadcast interviews with brand and non-profit spokespeople in authentic settings,” says Douglas Simon, the firm’s founder and CEO. “The technology we put in place immediately after the COVID crisis hit allowed us to deliver the highest quality content to broadcasters and the best experience for our clients.” The new broadcast center, continues the release, uses proprietary software to deliver the best possible image. It allows for a flawless broadcast of panel discussions featuring as many as eight people from multiple locations around the world. A critical element of the broadcast center is that the PR representative can monitor the broadcasts from a virtual green room and even provide feedback to their spokespeople during interviews or live events.
“One trend we expect to see, especially in the non-profit events space, is the combination of an in-person event with other participants and the audience attending virtually,” says Simon. “We’ve already produced hybrid fundraising events that were part of campaigns raising more than 30 times what the event itself cost to produce.”
