David Belew joins Baltimore Public Media as Director of Development

Baltimore Public Media adds David Belew as Director of Development, reports Inside Radio.
According to Inside Radio, Belew comes to BPM – which includes news/talk WYPR (88.1), adult alternative “Total Music Discovery” WTMD (89.7), and Your Public Studios – with more than a decade of experience in fundraising, communications, and cultural leadership in Baltimore, having most recently served as VP of External Affairs at the Maryland Center for History and Culture, where he managed all philanthropic, marketing, grants, and government affairs activities. Before his time at MCHC, Belew was Grants Manager at Baltimore’s National Aquarium.
“With Belew at the helm of development, Baltimore Public Media will continue to strengthen its philanthropic partnerships and community support — vital to sustaining the trusted journalism, music, arts and cultural engagement and programs that [BPM] provides on-air, online, on-demand for the communities we serve across the state of Maryland,” BPM’s news release says.
At MCHC, Belew was part of the executive team that rebranded the organization from the Maryland Historical Society, and worked closely with Maryland’s state legislative leaders, and both the Hogan and Moore administrations, to strengthen funding programs supporting museums across the state.
