Debbi Jarvis, Howard University’s senior vice president of corporate relations, is moving back to the private energy sector with a new leadership position at the parent company of Washington Gas, reports Washington Business Journal.
Jarvis has been named vice president and chief communications officer of AltaGas, a Calgary, Canada-based energy infrastructure company, of which Washington Gas, a public utility company serving Greater Washington, is its largest subsidiary. In her role, she’ll lead internal and external communications through media relations, brand recognition, and environment, social and government reporting, continues the WBJ report.
While at Howard University’s Corporate Relations Office, she was responsible for “developing and implementing a global strategy for corporate development and the funding of new and exciting programs for the benefit of the awesome students of HU. I’m equally excited to oversee the management of WHUT and WHUR, ensuring their business operations are in alignment with Howard’s mission,” she states on LinkedIn.
In addition, she spent more than 12 years at Pepeo Holdings and, earlier in her career, was a news anchor and reporter for NBC News in D.C.
