Former Burson-Marsteller CEO Don Baer joined Brunswick Group in D.C. as senior partner, reports O’Dwyer’s. He led the WPP unit for six years and exited in 2020 as global chair of the revamped BCW firm.
From 1998 – 2007, Baer was Senior Executive Vice President for Strategy and Development at global media company Discovery Communications, home of the Discovery Channel and media properties in 170 countries. From 1994 – 1998, he was an Assistant to the President and senior adviser for President Bill Clinton, serving as White House Communications Director, Chief Speechwriter and Director of Speechwriting and Research.
Before working in the White House, he was a journalist at U.S. News & World Report and The American Lawyer, as well as a media lawyer in New York City.
