Dr. Sheila Brooks, founder, president and CEO of SRB, will be inducted into the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) 2023 Hall of Fame. This honor, states a release, recognizes her “outstanding contributions and trailblazing leadership in media and communications for over four decades. As the founder of NABJ’s Student Multimedia Projects and a previous recipient of NABJ’s Ida B. Wells Award, Dr. Brooks consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence and balanced coverage of the Black community.”
NABJ’s Hall of Fame pays homage to legendary Black journalists and communicators who have made outstanding contributions to the industry. The Hall of Fame Induction and Luncheon will take place during the 2023 NABJ Convention & Career Fair on Friday, Aug. 4, in Birmingham.
In addition, SRB, which is headquartered in D.C.and has a Baltimore office, is celebrating its 33rd anniversary. Over the years, the agency focused on reaching multicultural audiences through market research, PR and communications, strategic planning, creative, community engagement and events, digital marketing and video production. Dr. Brooks offered advice to other boutique agency CEOs about long-term success: “Success in the long run is all about the company we keep. I am inspired daily by my amazing SRB team and trusted advisors. They have faced countless challenges head-on and always emerged stronger. Their unwavering dedication is truly inspiring, reminding us that we too can overcome any obstacles.”
