BH Media Group, owner of the Richmond Times-Dispatch, added its 10th daily newspaper in Virginia, reports the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

The story, in part, also stated that the company “bought the Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star, its website and its commercial printing operations from Sandton Capital Partners, the private equity company that had acquired the newspaper in 2014 during a bankruptcy court-approved auction.

“The Free Lance-Star is a 31,700-circulation daily newspaper that serves Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania, Stafford, King George, Caroline, Orange, Culpeper, Westmoreland, Fauquier and Louisa counties.

“BH Media Group, based in Omaha, Neb., is a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Co.

“BH Media Group now owns 32 daily newspapers and related weekly newspapers in Nebraska, Iowa, Texas, Oklahoma, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida and New Jersey.

“In Virginia, in addition to The Times-Dispatch, BH Media owns daily newspapers in Roanoke, Charlottesville, Danville, Lynchburg, Bristol, Waynesboro, Culpeper and Martinsville. It also owns 18 weeklies in Virginia including the Mechanicsville Local, Goochland Gazette, Powhatan Today, King William Local and Cumberland Today.”
