The overall goal of Freelance Business Week is to reach and support the growth of freelance business owners where they are, in their local communities. It is rooted in the belief that every freelancer needs strategic partners they can collaborate with, peers to brainstorm solutions and friends that understand the ups and downs of a one-person professional business owner.

The #FBW founder, Emily Leach, learned through her experience building the largest local-focused freelance community in the US in Austin, TX that freelance business owners are more successful with community.

With Washington, DC Metro being the home of over 3,100 associations, we understand the importance of community. We have it in our DNA. The “Freelancing in DC” Fireside Chat on Thursday, April 21st highlights local freelance business owners who will not only share their stories doing business in the DMV, but also their experience as active members in associations and the role it has played in their growth.

Speakers for the “Freelancing in DC” Fireside Chat include:

Welcome: Giuseppe Laviano, Director, Brand Strategy and Project Management, Brand Wagon Digital and President of International Association of Business Communicators DC Metro (IABCDC)

Moderator: Angela Long, City Organizer for Freelance Business Week DC, Managing Director of Brand Wagon Digital and Immediate Past-President of the American Marketing Association DC Chapter (AMADC)

The fireside chat will be followed by a happy hour with awesome food and drink provided by locally owned Green Plate Catering.

The event will be held at One Metro Center, 700 12th Street Northwest, Washington, DC, 20005
