Baltimore-based GKV has been named the media agency of record for Bridgestone Golf, which is taking on the category leader, Titleist Pro V1, with the introduction of its new e6 series golf balls. According to GKV, Bridgestone will be releasing more advanced e6 models within the next few months, providing everyday golfers and professional golfers alike “the perfect ball for their game.”
The number one golf ball producer in Japan, Bridgestone started manufacturing golf balls in 1935 and is considered a “challenger brand” poised to take on and surpass current industry leaders in the U.S., according to GKV.
“GKV’s Challenger Brand philosophy is a great match for Bridgestone Golf,” said Roger Gray, chairman and CEO of GKV in a release. “They have superior products on the market today. Our job is to get that message to golfers throughout the country, so they can experience how Bridgestone ‘Makes Golf Easier.’”
“I’m confident in GKV’s track record of working with challenger brands to drive sales and brand awareness to the next level,” said Corey Consuegra, senior director of marketing, Bridgestone Golf. “We look forward to this new partnership and the competitive edge GKV will help bring to our brand through its expert media strategy.”
