HBO Filming Watergate Series in D.C. Until October 7

Anyone who lived in D.C. in the ’70s is likely well versed in the Watergate scandal, says WUSA9 in D.C. The break-in to the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the famed Watergate hotel led to an investigation “that revealed multiple abuses of power by the Nixon administration.
“Now, a new HBO series will take you back to that investigation.”
Over the weekend, reports WUSA9, several blocks of 17th Street Northwest were closed to traffic so HBO crews could film the upcoming series called The White House Plumbers.
According to SAG-AFTRA, a casting company is casting general background performers for the five-part series, which is by the producers of Veep and Succession. “Set in the early 1970s, the series will tell the true story of how Nixon’s own political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds, E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy, accidentally toppled the presidency they were trying to protect,” states SAG-AFTRA
Production continues in D.C. until October 7.
