Approximately 130 advertising professionals gathered at Hotel Washington on March 9 for a “LIVE” celebration to honor and recognize the award-winning work of the DC advertising community.
The American Advertising Awards (ADDYs) is the advertising industry’s largest and most prestigious competition, attracting over 40,000 entries every year in local AAF Club (Ad Club) competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising. The event featured a much-needed networking hour with hors d’oeuvres and drinks. The awards show was emceed by Sonya Gavankar.
Best of Show went to ICF Next for their work for The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) titled: “Closing the Race Gap in Science”
Best of Online/Interactive went to Freddie Mac’s internal digital team for their work titled: “Home for the Holidays”
Best of Out-of-Home went to SmithGifford for their work for United Way of the National Capital Area titled: “United Way Experiential Window”
Best of Cross Platform went to Subject Matter for their work for 9/11 Memorial & Museum titled: “The Never Forget Fund”
Special Judges Awards went to Yes& for their work for Carpenter’s Shelter titled: “Light the Way Forward DIY Lantern” and January Third for their work for CTIA titled “Short Codes Make it Obvious”
