Joe Lockhart, who was President Clinton’s press secretary, has joined Edelman as vice chairman of public affairs, reports O’Dwyer’s, which added that Lockhart will be based in Washington.

The O’Dwyer’s post stated that, most recently, “Lockhart stepped down as executive VP-communications and PA at the National Football League. He had joined the NFL from Facebook, where he led the social networking site’s corporate policy and international communications efforts.

“Lockhart worked on the presidential campaigns of Walter Mondale, Jimmy Carter and John Kerry. After exiting the Clinton White House, he co-founded Glover Park Group, which is now part of WPP.”
