The Public Relations Society of America’s National Capital Chapter (PRSA-NCC)is accepting submissions for the 50th Annual Thoth Awards, which recognize outstanding strategic public relations initiatives produced in Greater Washington, through Monday, July 23.
Named for the Egyptian god of communication, the Thoth (pronounced “tot”) Awards recognize excellence in more than 30 categories of public relations. The “program” categories celebrate the best campaigns, and the “component” categories highlight top tactical accomplishments.
In addition, the Institute for Public Relations will judge the prestigious Institute for Public Relations Research, Measurement and Evaluation Award. And PRSA-NCC has added a new award this year celebrating top agency and in-house public relations and communications teams.
“For 50 years, Thoth has recognized and celebrated a stunning array of world-class public relations ingenuity, creativity, and strategy happening here in the D.C. region,” said Susan Apgood, co-chair of the Thoth Awards committee. “We look forward to expanding our program this year to recognize teams, as great PR rarely happens in a vacuum.”
PRSA-NCC founded the local annual Thoth competition to recognize and reward outstanding achievement in public relations and to encourage continued excellence in the field.
Thoth winners will be recognized at the Thoth Gala and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Thursday, October 18, at the National Press Club.
