Jennifer Kasten, Ph.D., who has served as Chief Strategy Officer, Vice President, and Senior Researcher during her 10-year tenure at JBS International, has been selected as its President.

JBS’s founders, Gail Bassin and Jerri Shaw, are transitioning from their co-CEO roles into the new roles of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Strategy Officer, respectively, states a release.

Dr. Kasten has more than two decades of experience in public policy, program evaluation, change analyses, and performance measurement. For eight years, she directed JBS’s Clinical Technical Assistance contract with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Dr. Kasten was named Chief Strategy Officer at JBS in 2016. Prior to that, she was a JBS Vice President for nearly four years. She joined JBS in 2009 as a Senior Researcher in the behavioral health practice and previously worked in other government contracting firms.

Kasten received her Ph.D. in Public Administration from North Carolina State University and an MSW in Social Work from the University of South Carolina.

JBS International, a wholly owned subsidiary of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina’s Celerian Group, is a professional consulting firm founded in 1985. JBS has more than 250 employees and offices in North Bethesda, MD, and Burlingame, CA.
