Jessica Faith, a meteorologist at WPXI in Pittsburgh – and the first Black woman meteorologist in Pittsburgh TV history – joins WRC-TV in Washington, D.C.

“I’ve always known the importance of being Black and a woman in science and on TV news,” she told the Pittsburgh Union Progress. “I try my best to represent well and be a role model because I know how much I would have loved to see someone who looks like me doing the weather in central Alabama. And while it’s an honor to break this barrier, it was past due, and I pray conditions are made so many more may come behind me.”

On Facebook, Faith stated:  “Though I loved my time in Pittsburgh and at WPXI-TV Pittsburgh, my husband and I are thrilled about the opportunity to move close to family.

“I am excited to announce that I will be the newest meteorologist at NBC 4 in Washington, DC! I look forward to the next challenge and to join the dynamic weather team at NBC 4. My husband is from the DMV, and our family there is ecstatic that they can now watch me locally on their favorite news station.”
