Josh Raffel, head of PR at Blumhouse Productions in LA, has been hired by Jared Kushner to help run the newly minted White House Office of American Innovation, reports The Washington Post, which added:
“Raffel, who once worked with the Kushner family business at a PR shop in New York, will run communications at Kushner’s new West Wing shop, which aims to bring private-sector efficiency to the federal government, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Most recently, Raffel was the head of communications at Blumhouse, the production company that has churned out low-budget horror flicks such as “Paranormal Activity” for a major profit.
“The company’s latest hit is the critically acclaimed “Get Out,” comedian Jordan Peele’s frightening rumination on race. That movie had a budget of less than $5 million and has made more than $150 million and counting. Basically, the company spins terror into gold, and as head of marketing, Raffel’s job was to craft the best message to sell, sell, sell. Now he’ll be bringing that particular set of skills to the Trump White House.”
