Kat Trainor joins The Hill as Vice President of Events. In this newly created role, she will lead the live events team, helping The Hill “expand our footprint with an emphasis on national events and new advertising partners.”

On LinkedIn, she provided the following about her career:

I’m a veteran business journalist, content, marketing, strategy and operations executive. I’ve also cut my teeth as an entrepreneur, founding two businesses in recent years–a content company and a consultancy firm.

At Bloomberg, I work closely with senior leadership to bring strategic and operational oversight across brand building initiatives, including; creating partnerships, leading sales enablement, generating budgets and revenue modeling, creative and experiential design, agency staffing, measurement and reporting.

At the NYSE I oversaw production, programming and customer experience, globally. I managed a multi-million dollar budget for strategic and sponsored events, our broadcast center, content creation several ESG initiatives.

Previously, I was at Bloomberg Live where I built a single sponsor events business from the ground up. It was an amazing operational exercise and was profitable annually during my tenure.

Before that, I worked in television news. From Bloomberg TV to CNBC (Mad Money, anyone?), and NY1 News. I have produced countless hours of content, specials, live events, town halls, and road shows. It was an invaluable experience that taught me the full spectrum of business development, marketing, creative and project management skills that I have been able to apply across my career.
