Kathy Baird has been named Chief Communications Officer of The Washington Post, overseeing corporate communications, public relations, live events, and brand marketing. She will report directly to Publisher and CEO Fred Ryan.
“The Washington Post is laser focused in serving a more expansive global readership. This role will be critical in advancing our global communication strategy and branding,” said Ryan. “Kathy brings extensive experience in corporate and consumer marketing and digital communications and will serve as a key strategic partner for all aspects of the business as we realize our ambitious vision for the publication.”
Baird joins The Post from Nike where she served as the Senior Director of Global Communications. Previously, she was the Managing Director and Head of Ogilvy’s D.C.’s office, leading a cross-functional integrated business and team. Prior to that, she led the integrated marketing team at FleishmanHillard.
