Laura Wagner is joining The Washington Post as a media reporter.
She was most recently a staff writer at Defector, where she covered media, sports and labor in stories such as her report on the corporate takeover of Football Outsiders.
Prior to that, states The Post, “she was a senior staff writer at Vice, where she reported on prominent media figures and institutions, including Norm Pearlstine’s tenure at the Los Angeles Times and the New Yorker’s suspension of Jeffrey Toobin. Before that, Laura covered sports and sports media at Deadspin. She has also written for Slate and NPR, and her work has been published by Columbia Journalism Review.”
In her new role, she will cover the rapidly changing digital media industry.
