Lisa Osborne Ross, President of Edelman Washington D.C., will be the keynote speaker at PRSA-National Capital Chapter’s first PR Day program for students, Monday, April 30, 3:00-7:00 pm, at the George Washington University Science & Engineering Hall on 22nd Street, NW, in Washington, D.C.
Ross will offer attendees a perspective on living your truth and finding your happiness; and will speak on the importance of finding mentors and being authentic to yourself, in both the professional and personal sides of your life.
According to event co-organizer Kelsey O’Planick, PR Day is an opportunity for students to learn, network and grow professionally; as well as gain feedback on their resumes, meet students from other universities, network with professionals and hear from speakers currently working in PR.
The program will begin with a resume review and networking session, followed by the keynote and then an Industry Snapshot session, with eight panelists, designed to provide a view of the many types of PR professionals in DC. Experts from local contractors, government, agencies, corporations and consultancies will provide their perspectives. PR Day will culminate with a networking and happy hour.
For students looking for a professional headshot that can be used on social media, there will also be an opportunity to request a specific time after registering.
