The Washington Post adds Liza Pluto as its Director of Communications. She joins The Post from Mars, Incorporated, a family-owned, global leader in pet care, snacking and food, where she served as Media Relations and Issues Manager on the Global External Communications Team and activated media strategies to shape Mars’s corporate reputation.

Pluto’s experience includes eight years working in media relations for leading news organizations, including at MSNBC as Media Relations Manager overseeing daily communications and implementing press campaigns for MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” weekend programming, and MSNBC Films. Prior to MSNBC, she was part of the Communications team at PBS, publicizing the network’s news & public affairs programming. She began her career in news at CNN.
