Beekeeper Group, a D.C.-based public affairs and advocacy firm, acquired Alexandria, Va-based public relations and marketing firm Pivot Point Communications. According to a release, the acquisition will expand Beekeeper Group’s expertise in media relations, earned media, branding and integrated campaigns. Pivot Point Communications was founded in 2009 by Vanessa French and Casey Kincheloe, and had clients that included 1776, Americans for the Arts, Coexist Campaign, Department of Labor, George Washington University, NAACP, National Pork Board, Port City Brewery, Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Washington Gas and The Women’s Tennis Association.
TEGNA Inc. announced the appointment of Anne Bentley as vice president and chief communications officer. Most recently, Bentley was vice president and head of corporate communications for PBS, where she served as the lead communications officer. During her tenure, Bentley was instrumental in enhancing the organization’s visibility in the media landscape. In addition to serving as chief corporate spokesperson, she oversaw corporate communications strategy, including corporate positioning and reputation management, media relations, general audience and children’s media publicity, social media, events, and employee, executive and station communications. Prior to joining PBS in 2010, Bentley worked for more than a decade at AOL.
