Tara Dowdell Group, an award-winning Black-female owned social good PR and marketing agency headquartered in Jersey City, New Jersey, has appointed Zy Richardson, in main photo, as Vice President of Communications, expanding TDG’s services to the Baltimore and DC Metro Area. Richardson joins TDG after four years as chief spokesperson and Director of Communications at the Baltimore City State’s Attorney Office, under the helm of Marilyn J. Mosby. Richardson brings her expertise to TDG, where she will lead the agency’s public relations, overseeing content development, and helping build out the DC Metro office.

“Zy’s hiring ushers in a new era for Tara Dowdell Group,” explained Tara Dowdell, the agency’s founder and president. “I started TDG with a vision to build a full-service PR and marketing agency that maintains the highest level of excellence and integrity while supporting organizations engaged in social good. Zy shares this vision and will help us continue to innovate and expand in today’s dynamic media landscape, including opening an office in the DC Metro area. She brings a wealth of talent and experience that will be invaluable to the growth of our public relations, content development, and community engagement efforts. We are thrilled to welcome Zy to Tara Dowdell Group.”

Baltimore’s Avenue Market, a staple of the city’s Upton community since 1871, is undergoing a nearly $10 million redevelopment and has engaged Points North Studio to lead the branding for the revitalized space.

“The public markets in Baltimore, they have such an incredible history and they’re a staple. They’ve been a place where a lot of folks went for their produce and shopping. Over the years, the markets have grown or scaled back. So Baltimore is in the middle of a revitalization of the markets across the board,” said Points North founder and CEO Jessica Watson.

For the Avenue Market project, officials aim to rebuild all of the market’s stalls as well as develop space for a demo kitchen and community events.

Planit, an award-winning integrated marketing agency, reports that “it has once again solidified its industry dominance” by clinching a spot on the 2023 Inc. 5000 list for the seventh consecutive year. “Plus, locally, we’re in the Top 50 (#44) locally,” wrote Stacey Bollinger, PR & Social Media Account Director. “This remarkable achievement, coupled with a significant rise in various categories, speaks volumes about Planit’s extraordinary journey,” Bollinger said in her email to Capitol Communicator. “The agency’s exponential growth and adaptive prowess along its 28-year history provide an inspiring narrative of how innovation and determination can transform into triumph.”

Samone Maddox

Warschawski announced the addition of Samone Maddox as a Senior Social Media and Account Specialist.
