The Daily Record has named Amy Basta, assistant vice president of marketing for SECU, Maryland’s largest state chartered credit union, as one of Maryland’s 2020 Leading Women.
The Daily Record’s Leading Women awards honor women who are 40 years of age or younger for the accomplishments they have made so far in their careers. A panel of previous Top 100 Women and Leading Women winners selected the honorees based on their professional experience, community involvement and commitment to inspiring change.
Most recently, Basta successfully launched SECU Maryland’s 23rd financial center, located in Clarksville, Maryland, during a time when banks were closing branches and cancelling events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With an ability to adapt and take on new challenges, Basta spearheaded an integrated marketing campaign and inspired greater community involvement through technology, resulting in more than 300 pounds of food donated to the Community Action Council of Howard County – Food Bank.
“We are proud to celebrate Amy’s well-deserved honor as a 2020 Leading Women recipient,” said Becky Smith, EVP and chief strategy & marketing officer for SECU Maryland. “Her professional background brings innovative thinking and bold leadership to the banking industry, and has helped our organization thrive, especially during challenging times. More than a marketer, Amy has quickly become a role model, using her valuable experience and overwhelming passion to mentor and inspire her team.”
Prior to joining SECU in January 2020 she was director of media & analytics at Planit.
