Pugh & Tiller PR has been named to PRNEWS’ inaugural Agency Elite Top 100, which recognizes the most innovative and strategic public relations firms in the nation.

Expertise.com, a Seattle-based online directory that uses a research and selection process to identify top service professionals in more than 100 business categories including public relations, recently named Pugh & Tiller one of the top public relations firms in the Baltimore area.

“Being named to both of these lists is a testament to our continuing mission to provide clients with ideas built on strategy – not egos – from a team of senior public relations professionals who are committed to providing exceptional service, innovative solutions, and measurable results,” says company Partner Matthew Pugh.

“We are honored to be recognized not only within our local geographic market but also on a national scale by our peers,” adds Jessica Tiller, Partner at Pugh & Tiller PR. “That innovative approach to client work has served our firm well over the course of our 12 years in business, attracting clients from around the country, as well as international firms that are looking to enter the U.S. market.”

Maroon PR has been selected by the Western Golf Association (WGA) to be its local public relations Agency of Record for the 2021 BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. The 2021 BMW Championship will mark the PGA TOUR’s return to the Baltimore area for the first time in nearly 50 years.

The BMW Championship has been part of the PGA TOUR’S FedExCup Playoff rotation since 2007, but is the oldest continuous event on the PGA TOUR, dating back to its time as the Western Open. The BMW Championship is the largest annual fundraiser benefiting the Evans Scholars Foundation.

The event features the top 70 PGA TOUR players vying to earn one of 30 spots in the season-ending TOUR Championship and the chance to be crowned FedExCup champion. Past BMW Championship winners include 2020 champion Jon Rahm, as well as Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Justin Thomas, Justin Rose, and Zach Johnson.

“Bringing this event to Maryland for the first time is a significant strategy for us, and it was important that we have the right agency in place to help us navigate the market,” said Vince Pellegrino, Senior Vice President of Tournaments for the Western Golf Association. “Maroon PR’s experience in the golf world coupled with their outstanding relationships in the region made them a perfect fit.”

Maroon PR’s role will include managing media relations, social media strategy, and advertising for the 2021 BMW Championship, according to John Maroon.
