SECU, Maryland’s largest credit union, hired Becky Smith, left, as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. According to an announcement, Smith will lead the credit union’s internal and external communications to elevate its member-centric reputation. She will oversee marketing, advertising, corporate communications, social and traditional media engagement, and member experience. Prior to joining SECU, she was Chief Marketing Officer at EagleBank, the largest community bank in the Washington metro.

Crofton-based The Cyphers Agency announced additions to its public relations, account and creative departments. Danielle “Dani” Merritts has been hired as an account coordinator; Meena Ng joined as a graphic designer; and Steve Adams, formerly a Cyphers account coordinator, has transitioned full-time to the PR team as public relations coordinator.

UNCONQUERED, a creative content agency with offices in Baltimore and New York, announced that it has been honored with five Telly Awards, including two Gold, and one District 2 Silver ADDY Award for the #GameChanger campaign, which was developed for the Girls Elite Clubs National League. ECNL is the premier club soccer league for young women leading up to college and professional play. The #GameChanger campaign aimed to inspire and engage the ECNL audiences with creative social content that included four vignettes and a :60 anthem spot.

Energy Select, a full-service energy consultant and contractor, specializing in solar power, energy audits, and LED lighting retrofits, announced that Steven Tripp has joined as Director of Sales and Marketing. Tripp will focus on streamlining sales and marketing practices for the company as it enters another growth period. “The Maryland General Assembly approved a 50 percent renewable energy target for 2030,” says Energy Select owner and president, James Horstkamp. “We absolutely need to be ready to meet the coming demand and Steve will help us to that.” Tripp most recently oversaw marketing for Chaney Enterprises and operations for Chaney subsidiary, BuilderUp, for 12 years.

MGH announced it has added seven new employees: Adam Cain, director of digital performance – Interactive Marketing. Cain joins MGH after nearly four years as a senior manager of digital marketing with Laureate International Universities; and Gary Sexton, digital video production director, who most recently served as a freelance producer in Colorado Springs, Colo. Also, Peter B. Ferrigan joins as digital strategy manager after serving as an analytics consulting specialist with Mindgrub Technologies; Sam Hays, previously an MGH intern, is now associate digital project manager; Amanda Fairburn, joins as digital media associate; Abby Donovan, marketing and public relations account coordinator; and Samantha Yeager, public relations coordinator.
