Baltimore-based Clapp Communications announced two new clients for marketing and public relations. The agency, headed by Barb Clapp, added Nemphos Braue LLC (NB Law), a Towson-based corporate boutique law firm. Primarily focused on business and corporate affairs, the firm is known for handling intricate corporate transactions.  Another new client at the growing agency is the non-profit Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers (ABAG). “It is a pleasure to be working with such a philanthropic and community-centered business,” said Barb Clapp. ABAG is a premier resource for philanthropy in the region and celebrates more than 30 years as an organization. Their objective is to improve the community and inform grant-makers through philanthropy commitment.

A. Bright Idea was selected as PR agency for the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works. According to a tweet, the Bel Air-based agency held a kickoff meeting at the DPW’s offices on June 21. The department issued an RFP for the services seeking an agency to work with the Customer Relations Unit to design a public relations campaign with short and long-term outreach strategies, and materials that will enable DPW to better communicate with all property owners, residents, and their families in Anne Arundel County.

­Devaney & Associates received two first-place Awards of Excellence from the Mid-Atlantic Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (MASHSMD). Covering Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania, the MASHSMD Marketing Excellence Awards celebrate the most outstanding work in the healthcare marketing and public relations industry from 2016. A Healthy Dose magazine, a publication Devaney & Associates created for client Carroll Hospital, won the first-place 2017 Award of Excellence: Newsletters and Reports. The 2016 annual report that Devaney & Associates created for client Chase Brexton Health Care was awarded the first-place 2017 Award of Excellence: Potpourri Category based on creativity. This report garnered praise and awe from the organization’s employees, helping to pull the community back together after a recent organizational shake-up.

Profiles, Inc., the Baltimore-based marketing and communications firm, announce the addition of Freddi Nevins as an account executive. In her new role, Nevins works directly with senior management to assist in the development and implementation of marketing and public relations programs as well as the planning and organization of special events for a variety of clients. Nevins returns to her hometown of Baltimore following two years working as an account coordinator at a boutique public relations firm in Miami. Prior to moving to Florida, she held internships with Nevins & Associates Public Relations and Molly White Marketing.
