Market leading news/talk WAMU Washington, D.C., (88.5) turns to a veteran newspaper journalist and content director as its new Chief Content Officer with the selection of Michael Tribble, reports Inside Radio.
Tribble, who begins his new role on Jan. 29, joins the public media outlet from National Geographic where he served as VP of Multi-Platform Content and Integrated Storytelling.
Tribble previously directed content and teams for regional and national publications, including The Plain Dealer (Cleveland, Ohio), San Jose Mercury News, Charlotte Observer, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
“WAMU is such an extraordinary institution that plays a vital role in the heart of D.C. and the region,” Tribble remarked. “I’m honored for the chance to serve this community and excited about forging stronger bonds with our audience and shaping how we connect with the next generation of WAMU fans.”
