The challenge of gathering, dispensing and presenting news to the public in today’s social-mediated world will be featured at #RealNews2017,  the 2017 Annual Industry/Student Communication Forum, set for October 24, 9:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m., in George Mason University’s Hub Ballroom, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax, Virginia 22030

In addition to Matthews, featured speakers and panelists are:

Kevin Hall, Communications Director/Senior Policy Advisor, U.S. Sen. Mark Warner
Pam Jenkins, President, Global Public Affairs, Weber Shandwick
Jack Speer, Anchor, NPR News
Anthony Shop, Chief Strategy Officer & Co-Founder, Social Driver

This free event is sponsored by George Mason University Insight Committee of the Department of Communication, a volunteer advisory board comprised of leaders in professional communication. The group annually sponsors an on-campus event to provide students access to and advice by leading professionals.
