Muck Rack teams up with Help Every Reporter Out to connect journalists and PR pros

Muck Rack reports that it is teaming with Help Every Reporter Out (HERO), the platform founded by Peter Shankman that makes it easy for journalists and sources to connect.

Through the partnership, states Muck Rack, “HERO will integrate Muck Rack journalist profiles into its daily emails, allowing PR pros to easily research a querying journalist with one click. HERO subscribers can seamlessly access Muck Rack’s vast database of journalists and media outlets across digital, broadcast, print, podcasts and podcasters, newsletters and social media, in real time. The extra layer of information can help PR pros send better, more targeted pitches more likely to result in coverage and help journalists get the sources they need.

“Plus, HERO will take advantage of Muck Rack’s long-standing manual verification process conducted by our editorial team, in which journalists and outlets are vetted against our strict set of criteria. Queries from Muck Rack-verified journalists will be prioritized at the top of every HERO issue, signaling that those journalists are legitimate.”

HERO launched in April 2024, gaining 15k+ subscribers within the first week. Free for users, HERO sends subscribers up to three emails a day featuring queries from journalists from various media outlets. If a source is or represents someone knowledgeable about a query, they may reply directly to the source with the potential to participate in the story.
