Amy Burke Friedman, left in photo, has been named the new CEO of PROFILES, the 33-year-old media relations firm that has grown to be among the most prominent in the Baltimore region.

Friedman is taking over from firm founder Amy Elias, who singlehandedly launched the business with one client (W.B. Doner and Company) back in 1990. Today, PROFILES represents a variety of businesses, nonprofits, associations, law firms and executives and provides clients with comprehensive services such as media relations advice, event planning, crisis management and branding assistance.

Elias will stay on board as a consultant to work with select clients on their goals and objectives. The company made this announcement in its news release.

Burke Friedman assumed her CEO position on Jan. 1 after starting at PROFILES as a junior account executive in 2003. She was promoted to President of the firm shortly after its 25th anniversary in 2015 and since then has been an essential member of day-to-day operations while leading its business development program and supporting its strategic direction.
