Inc. magazine released its ranking of the fastest growing privately owned businesses based on revenue growth over the past three years. Maryland communications firms that made the Inc. 5000 list for 2017 include:

• Benchworks, Chestertown (73 employees), with a growth of 471% and revenue of $36.9 million
• AltaVista Strategic Partners, Glen Burnie (19 employees) –  462% and $2.1 million
• Jellyfish, Baltimore (332 employees) – 344% and $74.3 million
• Verasolve, Potomac (20 employees) – 151% and $2.5 million
• idfive, Baltimore (32 employees) – 120% and $6.6 million
• Strategic Factory, Owings Mills (130 employees) – 100% and $15 million
• Fastspot, Baltimore (24 employees) – 100% and $3.9 million
• Heavy Hammer New Media Solutions, Annapolis (63 employees) – 95% and $5.2 million
• Blue Corona, Gaithersburg (40 employees) – 75% and $6.7 million
