On the Move in the D.C. Area: Amy Schatz Joins Glen Echo Group; Two Changes at EFX Media; and, Tracey Beeker Lands New Job In Florida

Amy Schatz joined Glen Echo Group as a Director. According to a release, Schatz joined from USTelecom, where she was Vice President of Media Affairs, providing strategic communications advice on issues ranging from robocalls and cybersecurity to closing the digital divide. Prior to USTelecom, Schatz served in reporting and editing positions with Politico, Recode and the Wall Street Journal, where she covered telecommunications and technology policy for 10 years. She was also a political blogger during the 2006 election cycle and a campaign embed during the 2008 presidential election.
Two changes at EFX Media in Arlington: After 20 years with EFX Media, Robin Evans, has left to pursue other interests; and Erika Litman, formerly of Modern Luxury’s DC Magazine, will be joining the staff.
The Sarasota County, Florida, School District hired Tracey Beeker as communications director. Beeker currently is managing director and chief strategist of her D.C.-based public relations firm Be More Consultants and, according to a press report, she counts the Public Broadcasting Service among her clients and has previously worked as vice president of marketing and communications for D.C.-based Reading is Fundamental, the national children’s literacy organization.
