Marian Salzman, one of the first women to lead a national public relations agency, will be a featured speaker at Capitol Communicator’s annual PR Summit DC on July 19 at the National Press Club. A nationally-known trendspotter, Salzman recently was appointed Senior Vice President of Communications at Philip Morris International in Switzerland, as it embarks on its transformation to a smoke-free landscape. Previously she was Havas PR’s North American CEO.
PR Summit DC’s full-day agenda is an opportunity for communicators to stay current with the latest developments in social media, media relations, convergence in communications, SEO, crisis communications, video, podcasts and other critical topics – plus an opportunity to network with other professionals facing many of the same issues and concerns you are facing.
“Communicators today are being challenged by on-going, fundamental changes, and the best way to keep abreast of how these changes impact your organization – and your career – is through in-depth educational sessions such as PR Summit DC,” stated Capitol Communicator.
Validating the fundamental shift communicators face, Chris Mumford, managing director of Richmond-based The Martin Agency, told attendees at the recent Mid-Atlantic Marketing Summit (MAMS), which was co-produced by Capitol Communicator, that communicators must “live in the future.” And, he added, “the bar is getting higher.”
Among those also scheduled to be on the program include representatives from National Press Club, USA Today, The Hill, Axios, Vox, Pew Research, Social Driver, ASAE, Consumer Technology Association, Kaiser Permanente, Meals on Wheels America and the Newseum.
