People in the News: Suzanne S. Youngkin, David Wolotsky and Antoine Sanfuentes

Suzanne S. Youngkin, wife of incoming Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, worked at one time as a public relations executive at Ogilvy PR.  Currently, Youngkin, above, is president of the Phos Foundation and founder of Normandy Farm. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Shakespeare Theatre Company and the Meadowkirk Retreat Center.  She also serves on the Advisory Counsel at Virginia Tech’s Equine Medical Center.

David Wolotsky is retiring from OUTFRONT Media. According to the company, D.C.-based Wolotsky has been “an established professional in Out of Home for the past 40 years. He is a legend, a leader, a friend to the industry and to many of you in OOH, in Washington, D.C., and beyond.”

Throughout the past 40 years, states OUTFRONT, Wolotsky has built campaigns and brands “alongside major clients including GEICO, UMGC, The Kennedy Center, The Washington Post, MedStar, C-Span and many more. He proclaims that OOH provides a high frequency targeted message that cannot be ignored.”

“When an advertiser tries out of home with the right location and message, we keep them as clients for the long run,” Wolotsky states. “These successful businesses understand the benefits of the medium and know it’s a necessary part of the media mix.”

In more recent years, states OUTFRONT, “technology has fueled the industry, from data and insights, to mobile technology, and programmatic. David believes as methodologies evolve, Out of Home will continue to be the powerhouse of mass reach with the efficiency of targetability fueled by data.”  More here.

The American University School of Communication announced that Antoine Sanfuentes, an alumnus of the College of Arts and Sciences and Vice President and Managing Editor of CNN’s Washington bureau, has been named a Distinguished Guest Lecturer for the Spring 2022 semester.  Sanfuentes will work with the Journalism Division on a series of events, including a panel on White House coverage, two in-class lectures and a mentorship coffee or workshop. Students will have the opportunity to interact with a key news executive during times of historic political partisanship, a global pandemic, and national debates on everything from voting rights to abortion.
